Project Manager - Transportation Engineer

Description

MacKenzie Engineering & Planning, Inc., headquartered in Palm City, Florida, seeks a Project Manager - Transportation Engineer (this is an in-office position) responsible for designing, planning, and managing transportation systems. Specific duties include: (i) Conducting site inspections to understand the traffic patterns and conducting traffic counts; (ii) Creating technical documents and proposals for internal and external stakeholders; (iii) Utilizing CADD software to create detailed drawings and plans for signals; (iv) Staying current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in transportation engineering; (v) Managing project documentation, contracts, and correspondence; (vi) Conducting comprehensive analyses of traffic patterns and evaluating the performance of road networks, intersections, lane configuration, signal timings, road capacity, peak hour traffic, and varying demand throughout the day by software such as but not limited to Python, R Programming, SQL, ArcGIS, CUBE, MS Excel, Synchro and HCS7 software; (vii) Coordinating and executing data collection efforts, including traffic counts, bicycle counts, and pedestrian counts; (viii) Analyzing the collected data to assess the potential effects on traffic patterns and recommending mitigation measures for new and ongoing developments; and (ix) Generating comprehensive reports that include traffic impact, future land use, parking, roundabouts, rezoning, and redevelopment traffic studies by detailing the project, and its requirements, and recommending improvements and ensuring compliance with Florida state standards and codes.

Qualifications

Must have a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Transportation Engineering or Civil Engineering and six months of experience working with project managers and engineering teams.  

Must have any experience with or knowledge of (from completed university-level coursework, seminars, workshops, or real-world, hands-on experience):

(i) Overseeing project documentation and correspondence;

(ii) Data analysis and interpretation, including using statistical tools and methodologies for better transportation planning and decision-making;

(iii) Conducting site inspections to interpret traffic patterns, existing site conditions, and collecting data;

(iv) Advanced transportation planning principles, including demand forecasting, multimodal transportation, safety, integrated land use, and transportation planning; and

(v) Industry-related software, including Excel and Computer Aided Design (AutoCad).

 

Experience can be concurrent.
